The Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Nanuet and Beyond and the Art Department of the Nanuet School District, will be holding its annual Art Contest and Exhibition Reception of artwork from students in grades kindergarten through twelve in the Nanuet Public Schools in March.
The theme for this year’s contest is “Nanuet Together.” During the second week of March, about 100 pieces of artwork from students will be on display at restaurants and shops throughout town. This will be followed by all of the artwork at the location for the reception for one week prior to the reception. Banner printing is often used to promote and advertise such special contests and exhibitions.
Students participating in the exhibition will be honored at the reception. Art teachers and local artists and sculptors will be judging the work in advance of the reception. There will be several categories for awards with prizes awarded to the first, second, and third place winners and honorable mentions. There will be a grand prize winner.
The reception will be held on Friday March 26 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with food and other items from businesses in the area looking to continue this annual tradition. The location is still to be determined. Admission will be free but a donation of $10 is suggested to help support Nanuet and Beyond, Inc. and programs for students in the future.
