A community yard sale will be held at the Macarthur Barr Middle School in Nanuet in May.
Poster printing can be used throughout the community to inform people of such events and to encourage them to sign up to sell their items.
Registration fees for those participating in the yard sale will go to support Nanuet and Beyond, Inc. This non-profit organization provides and support educational opportunities for the young that will enhance their experiences both within and outside of the classroom.
The cost to rent a space, measuring 10 feet by 10 feet, is $30 in advance or $40 on the day of the sale. Recommended items for the yard sale include pots and pans, children’s toys that are no longer used, old tools, and clothes. People should think of this as holding their own garage sale but in a community space in which neighbors and friends can participate. Revenues from sales of the items remain with the participants. Other vendors selling products are also encouraged to join the yard sale.
The Community Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, May 9 in the front entrance covered walkway of the Middle School from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Setup time begins at 8:00 am and needs to be completed by 9:30 am. Details should be checked again nearer the time in light of the COVID-19 situation.
