Nanuet to be center of major annual festivities

The annual Nanuet Street Fair, one of the main days on the calendar in Rockland County, is coming to Main Street early this month. It is being hosted by the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce for the fourth consecutive year.

Featured at the fair will be traditional games and races, with the added attraction of competing local politicians including Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and their families. Proceeds from these races will go to support the Nanuet Schools Family Resource Center.

There will also be close to 200 vendors from the tristate area, including craft vendors and local businesses. The opening ceremony will be performed by students from Nanuet High School. Other entertainment will include the Ice Cream Social Performers, featuring students from Rockland County; Baddhabit, a Tribute Band To 80s Rock; and other performers from local dance and arts schools.

Gift bags will be given to the some of the first families who come to the fair. The Town of Clarkstown will also be attending in order to explain some of the work going on to improve the area in downtown Nanuet. The town may have some flyers to distribute to attendees with more info about the project.

The street fair will take place on Sunday, June 4 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
