Nanuet joins county cleanup efforts
The Cleanup Campaign in Rockland County is currently underway. Specific events will be held in various communities and will continue through the months of April and May.
During the campaign, residents will remove litter from parks, streets, and waterways so as to beautify and improve the health of their communities. People can use this time towards earning community service hours, companies can organize cleanup events for company team-building, and schools can raise money with a School Bag-A-Thon, where students collect pledges from friends and family before the cleanup, with the funds raised going back to the school.
There will be cleanup sites that are kid-friendly, and each community event will have the gnome mascot of Keep Rockland Beautiful, KiRBy, hidden for kids to find. Also, a T-shirt has been designed in bright green to mark 20 years of the Keep Rockland Beautiful Campaign.
The Nanuet Community Cleanup Event will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the downtown area, and is sponsored by Raymour & Flanigan. Those who want to help out should bring work gloves and a reusable water bottle.
Banner printing companies can be hired to create banners that can be displayed throughout Nanuet so residents will know when the Cleanup Event will be held and how they can sign up to participate.
