The Nanuet Chamber of Commerce and the Nanuet High School Junior Chamber of Commerce are coordinating their efforts to hold a special tree lighting ceremony in December.
The event is being put together almost completely by the Nanuet Junior Chamber club. Featured at the event will be food from local restaurants and live entertainment, as well as the tree lighting and a visit from Santa Claus.
The Nanuet Chamber of Commerce is working with the town of Clarkstown and other volunteers to improve the area where the tree lighting will take place. They plan to install a new tree, enhance the lights, and increase the decorations on the tree.
The tree lighting will be from 4:00 to 6:30 pm on Saturday, December 5 on W. Orchard St. across from the post office in Nanuet.
In the meantime, the Chamber and the Junior Chamber are working with Nanuet and Beyond to raise funds in support of essential workers with a lawn sign. Local Print shops may have donated their time and resources as well to create such Signs. These signs are 24 inches by 18 inches, double-sided and are $20 each for a tax-deductible donation. These funds go towards providing food and other items needed for healthcare and essential works at this time.
