Nanuet area library feeds body and mind

The Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley is hosting the J&D Farm Stand every Tuesday through October.

Residents of nearby Nanuet will no doubt want to take advantage of this additional offering during the fall months.

J&D Farm Stand grows a variety of vegetables and fruits picked at the peak of flavor. The Farm Stand also offers honey, herbs, and eggs. The library will also take part in the weekly market and will offer free recipe Books, reusable grocery Bags, and giveaways. This is also an ideal opportunity for local printing services to create Flyers and Brochures with more information about nutrition and healthy eating habits.

Laura Wolven, Library Director, said the library is happy to partner with the J&D Farm Stand and provide space for it. Wolven added that this is a mutually beneficial situation in that local produce can be made available to patrons, which can improve the health of the community. Public Health Education Specialist, Michelle Kleinman, added that once people discover these nutritious and fresh offerings, they should be encouraged to return on a weekly basis.

The Transport of Rockland bus is currently offering be offering a free ride from Nanuet to the library.

J&D Farm Stand will be outside the main entrance to the library from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm every Tuesday through October 31
