Rockland Community College (RCC) and the Industrial Development Agency of the County of Rockland (Rockland IDA) are collaborating on cultivating talent in the area.
Internship stipends totaling $15,000 will be provided by the Rockland IDA to six students from RCC for one year for those students who are seeking internships in fields aligned with the economics, business, and industry of the county. Students at RCC who come from nearby Nanuet might be interested in such internships. The stipends will be awarded to two students in each of the fall, spring, and summer semester and will be $2,500 each.
The students who will receive these internship stipends will undergo an assessment process that will consider financial needs and other related factors. Students will also need to write an essay explaining how the internship plan aligns with their career goals. Students will be undertaking their internships through Career Services at RCC rather than directly with Rockland IDA to ensure an enriching and meaningful experience for the students.
