Lights herald festive season in Nanuet

The Shops at Nanuet are now filled with more than 37,000 twinkling lights, following the annual Tree Lighting Event last Friday.

According to the director of marketing and business development for The Shops at Nanuet, Briana Puncar, a replica pine tree of 30 feet in size was installed at the Plaza and will be the focal point of The Shops for the holiday season, adding to a festive atmosphere.

At the Annual Tree Lighting, there was a great deal of live entertainment featuring local artists like The BTW Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus and The Great White Way Holiday Singers, the latter of which is made up of performers from Broadway. There were also refreshments from Starbucks and other delights from the eateries at The Shops.

Among the remaining activities planned for the season at The Shops are Caring Santa on Saturday, December 13, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. This is specially designed for children with special needs and their families to visit Santa Claus in a quiet and welcoming environment.

Santa Claus will also be at The Shops at Nanuet until Christmas Eve for picture taking. The hours are Monday through Saturday from noon until 8:00 pm, and Sunday from noon until 6:00 pm.

Banner printing may be used throughout The Shops to announce these opportunities.
