A rebuilt platform shelter is now opened at the MTA Metro North Railroad station in Nanuet.
President of the MTA Metro North Railroad, Catherine Rinaldi, said the station now has modernized amenities that will improve the rider experience and passenger communications. More details about such improvements are often outlined with professional brochure and poster printing.
There are LED lights, benches with USB connections, directional signals on the exterior of the shelter, and a waiting area that is fully enclosed with glass, heating, and a wooden ceiling. It also accommodates those with disabilities.
There is also a new speaker and camera inside the shelter and metal enclosures with emergency call Boxes connective directly to the MTA police department. These also have a high-intensity LED beacon to deter potential crime and offer high visibility. A kiosk has also been installed to display train departure information in real time.
Rinaldi said that a clean and modern station is an important part of the rider experience for customers. The improvements were dedicated in memory of the former Vice Chair of the Commuter Council for the Metro-North Railroad, Orrin Getz, who Rinaldi said worked diligently to improve the rider experience. She added that the shelter recognizes Getz’s accomplishments and many years of advocating for improved services for those in the community.
