Royal Properties, a retail brokerage firm, recently announced that Kirkland’s, a retailer of home décor, has signed a long-term lease in the Rockland Center in Nanuet.
It will take up 7,500 square feet next to HomeGoods, another home furnishing store, at the west end of the strip mall located on Route 59.
There have been major changes to the strip mall in the past few years, including the November 2015 closure of its anchor store, Pathmark. T.J. Maxx took over about 40% of the 60,000 square feet once occupied by Pathmark. Meanwhile, Sierra Trading Post, a store for outdoor clothing and goods, took over the space in which there was previously an Office Depot.
Kirkland’s has 418 stores in 38 states across the country. The ones that are currently the closest to Nanuet are in the Bergen County Town Center in Paramus, New Jersey and the Crossroads Shopping Center in White Plains.
Both Jeanine Kemm of Royal Properties and David Landes, who represents the landlord for this lease, commented about their excitement regarding Kirkland’s coming to Rockland Center. They feel it will be great addition to the mix of tenants already in the mall.
