A New York State Qualified Film Production Facility will be coming to the Shops at Nanuet.
RTL Nanuet, owners of the store of the former Macy’s store, will be operating the facility under the regulations governed by the Empire State Film Production Tax Credit Program.
Ed Daly, County Executive, said that the production of films is a major source of revenue for the county and provides a steady stream of jobs. He added that this demonstrates how the county partners with private investors to help them find new opportunities that will foster local economic growth and business development. He pointed out that for every dollar spent on film production, there is an additional $4.50 invested in the economy of New York State.
Spokesperson from Royal Properties, Inc. David Landes, said that such a facility enables the repositioning of RTL Nanuet and adds film production as one of the potential uses of the space in addition to other options including medical uses, fulfillment, and other types of retail establishments.
Announcements of such changes and updates are often made know to the community with banner printing.
The store itself, which spans 100,000 square feet, will become an At Home store. The home decor superstore retailer, based in Plano, Texas, has signed a lease for 10 years, and is scheduled to open in February 2021.
