Rockland Community College (RCC) in Suffern will be holding three days of celebrations later this month as part of the inauguration ceremonies for President Michael A. Baston.
These are all being held close enough to Nanuet that many from that community will surely want to attend all or some of these events.
The series of events will start with a faculty symposium, after which will be an inaugural Gala. There will be special exhibits and performances at the Gala that highlight the accomplishments of the college. The operations of the Student Success Initiative will benefit from the proceeds of the Gala.
A video tribute will be featured at the Gala and show how the lives of students at RCC have been transformed through their experiences at the college. Chair of the inaugural Gala, Anne Hummer, commented that RCC has been important to many students as it has given them the opportunity of an education that has not been experienced previously in their families.
Headliners at the Gala are Pat Battle, from NBC-TV 4, serving as master of ceremonies, and Broadway singer and actress Rita Harvey.
The three days of celebrations will take place from Wednesday, September 12 through Friday, September 14, ending with a student/alumni social, where students and alumni will gather informally to meet the new president. Events like this often use poster printing to promote themselves.
