Chick-fil-A is looking to purchase a strip mall on Route 59 in Nanuet to open a restaurant. The property was once the home of HobbyTown USA.
The eatery will span 5,625 square feet and have canopies for ordering meals and delivery as well as two drive-thru lanes. There are also plans to build a second restaurant that quick service, covering 1,000 square feet, with a single drive-thru lane. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform the community of projects planned in the area.
The owner of the strip mall, Bradley Cocks of Ashley LLC, said the entire site is three acres in size and has two commercial buildings with eight tenants. The building in the front part of the property is two stories tall with mixed used commercial tenants. The building in the rear is a studio of two and a half stories. Both buildings would be razed by Chick-fil-A.
The restaurants that are part of the Chick-fil-A chain are typically over 4,000 square feet and are on parcels of land that are between one and two acres. The chain needs at least an acre for parking, the queuing of cars through the drive-thrus, and the restaurant itself as well as access to and from the road.
There are 2,000 locations of Chick-fil-A in 43 states. This restaurant in Nanuet would be the first in the Hudson Valley.
