Burger eatery heading for Nanuet

A proposal for bringing a Shake Shack and a Chipotle Mexican Grill in the Nanuet area is on the upcoming agenda for the Zoning Board of Appeals. The two eateries would be in the space once occupied by Michael’s Tuxedos.

The developer of the property is the Brixmor Property Group. Brixmor is looking to tear down Michael’s Tuxedos, which is 1,400 square feet in size, and construct a 5,700 square foot building. There would also be 1,200 square feet of outdoor seating and an increase in the number of parking spaces from 1,025 to 1,079. Banner printing can be used on such sites to inform the community of new construction and businesses.

Shake Shack has locations in Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers, as well as Woodbury Commons and Hartsdale, but this would be the first such location in Rockland County. Shake Shack promotes itself as a roadside burger stand, featuring burgers made from Angus beef, hot dogs, French fries, and milkshakes.

President of the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, Risa Hoag, commented that with Nanuet’s location within easy distance of many major highways, that it makes sense for businesses of all size to move to Nanuet. Due to the anticipated Transit Oriented Development, the hamlet will continue to grow and evolve and businesses are most welcome to the area to provide more options for shopping and dining and the creation of new jobs.
