The Rockland County Teachers’ Association will be holding a Billiards Bonanza event later this month to benefit the United Hospice of Rockland.
The Teachers’ Association has used poster printing to announce this special fundraiser, which will take place at Diamond Jim’s Billiards in Nanuet to the community, encouraging them to save the date.
Attendees will not only contribute to a worthy cause but can socialize, enjoy food and beverages, visit a cash bar, and demonstrate their skills at shooting pool.
The United Hospice of Rockland was founded in 1988 and provides care and comfort and endeavors to improve the quality of life for individuals with serious illnesses. It also provides support to their families and to members of the community as a whole.
Some of its services include hospice care, a special program called HeartWise thats assist those with advanced heart disease, and the Joe Raso Hospice Residence for help with the tasks of daily living, nursing care, support groups, and other services. Bereavement support is provided by specially trained counselors, clinical social workers, and volunteers, and educational offerings come from healthcare professionals and community groups on such topics as pain management, principles of hospice care, and advance directives.
The Bonanza is scheduled for Thursday, January 22 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There is a suggested donation of $20 per person and $150 for each team of five.
