Melville presentation to cover famous duel

A virtual event from the Half Hollow Hills Community Library in Melville will be discussing the feud between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr in November.

The Greens’ Men’s Group has partnered with a professor from St. John’s University to give a presentation on Hamilton and Burr. The lecture will inform attendees about what happened on the day of their duel and discuss whether or not the tragic incident could have been prevented. The program will take place over a Zoom call and is meant for an adult audience. Those who give presentations like this may advertise their talks to the public with flyer printing.

The presenter for the program is Professor Howard Ehrlich, the founder of H&H Scholars. He graduated from Columbia University and has worked as an instructor for Adelphi University. Ehrlich is also a chief member and former executive director of the Theodore Roosevelt Association. Some of the activities from the association include providing teddy bears to children in hospitals, hosting public speaking contests, and holding tours in places that were important to Roosevelt.

The discussion on Hamilton and Burr will be held on Wednesday, November 10th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Registration for the presentation will last from October 25th to November 10th. People must register for the activity to be emailed a Zoom link to the discussion.
