Meet fascinating animals during Melville presentation

Melville children can learn about interesting animals in March by attending a virtual program provided by the Half Hollow Hills Community Library.

Animals Alive is a virtual interactive activity where kids can discover cool facts about various wildlife. The Alley Pond Environmental Center will present the program and cover topics such as animal classification and types of habitats. During the activity, viewers will get to meet a chinchilla, ball python, and bearded dragon. Libraries offering educational broadcasts like this can utilize Print shops to help promote their events to local families.

The Alley Pond Environmental Center is a nonprofit group dedicated to protecting habitats while educating New York residents about nature and sustainable environmental policies. The organization organizes many virtual activities, including presentations on coastal wetlands, seasonal wildflowers, and cooking vegan meals. There are also online activities for children, like the group’s Busy Bees Preschool Prep program.

The interactive presentation will be held on March 30th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Only children enrolled from preschool to the 5th grade are allowed to attend the lesson. All participants must have a library card to register for the activity. Those who register will be given a link via email to the presentation’s Zoom call. Animals Alive will be free to the public. Those wanting to support the Alley Pond Environmental Center can become a member for $40.
