Show offers fun for people and their pets

The 3rd annual Greater New York Pet Expo is taking place this May on Long Island.

Visitors to the show can bring their pets with them, as long as they sign a waiver stating that their pet is up to date on their vaccinations. For the pets attending, there will be discounted vaccinations and microchipping, and free nail trims; there is also a costume contest. For the owners, there will be author readings and book signings, prizes such as a year of dog or cat food, agility and obedience demonstrations and special guests. Three of the special guests will be Wayde King, Brett Raymer and Irwin Raymer from Animal Planet's "Tanked".

The expo is also set to feature a "mega-adoption" event, and a large number of rescues and shelters will be displaying some of the animals that are available for adoption. Those groups will also be providing information to the public about what they do.

This event should attract people from all over the New York area, including those from Glen Cove. To spread the word, local Print companies may have been asked to provide products such as Flyers.

The Greater New York Pet Expo will be held at the Nassau Coliseum on May 30 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Tickets are $19.40 for adults, $15.85 for seniors and military and $13.25 for children between the ages of 5 and 11.
