Online workshop offered to Glen Cove gardeners

As another garden season opens, Glen Cove home horticulturalists have been offered a chance to participate in a virtual learning activity that will help them to care for their plants.

Paul Levine, who is also known as “Pauley the Plant Man,” will be sharing his skills and knowledge during a Zoom-based presentation being hosted by the Glen Cove Public Library. It will be focused on ornamental plants, and registrations for the function are now being accepted.

During the workshop, the public will learn about both annuals and perennials, including which ones tend to grow best in the local area. They will find out how to care for them so that they will be in top shape, and insect control, watering, and soil preparation are all on the agenda. Following the presentation, the attendees can ask any questions they have, and anyone who would like more details has been asked to contact 516-676-2130.

While this sort of function may take place online, the participants often still appreciate receiving hard copy versions of the materials used. Print shops will be able to prepare these, and they can then be made available for pickup by the public.

The Glen Cove Public Library has made plans to host this horticultural workshop for local gardeners on June 10. It will start at 2:00 pm, and registration can be completed through its Patch listing.
