Officials came to the new site of the Villa at Glen Cove to attend a ground breaking ceremony. The new condo development will feature 176 units, and will be located on four acres on Glen Cove Avenue.
President of Livingston Development, David Livingston, said the project had been in the making for a long time. He added that the new development had the potential to make Glen Cove appealing to new residents.
Reggie Spinello, Major, also spoke at the occasion. He spoke of his commitment to revitalizing the key gateways into Glen Cove, and said he believes that this project will assist with that mission.
The property which is the future home of the Villa at Glen Cove, was originally a blighted property; demolition of the old buildings, including a strip mall, began in May. The completed building will be six buildings, and 16 of the 176 units will be reserved as affordable housing. Each building will be between two and a half and four stories. The development will also gain two bus stops.
Construction developments offer significant marketing opportunities for a number of companies.
