The 17th annual Irish Festival is taking place in Nassau County this March. Proceeds from this event will go to the Hofstra University Scholarship Fund.
With all sorts of activities going on during the day for people of all ages, the emcee is set to be Tony Jackson from WRHU, 88.7 FM.
There will be musical performances from the Black Velvet Band, a show from the Hirten Family Irish Dancers, and a wide variety of traditional Irish food. For children, there will be a magician, a bounce house, and the Wonderspark puppets.
More than 50 vendors are expected to be on hand selling general merchandise and arts and crafts, and community groups will also be providing information on their programs and services.
Vendor spaces of 10 x 10 feet cost $125 for general products and services, $350 for food, and $40 for nonprofit organizations.
The weekend event should attract plenty of people from all over the county, including nearby Glen Cove. Organizers might have invested in flyer printing services to advertise throughout the area.
The Irish Festival is being held at the Mack Sports Complex at Hofstra University in West Hempstead on March 15 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $6, $5 for seniors, and free for children ages 12 and under. Hofstra students may also attend free of charge. Call 516-463-6582 to learn more.
