The Long Island Fair is coming to Old Bethpage this fall on two separate weekends. It is a presentation of the Agricultural Society of Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.
The event is set to feature many of the tradition activities that are found at agricultural fairs, such as livestock displays, vegetable competitions, farm animals, and crafts. There will also be children's games, a magic show, a petting zoo, and a reptile show. Civil War re-enactments will be taking place too.
In addition, activities such as a scarecrow-building contest, hands-on farm displays, and pony and camel rides will keep the kids happy. Other activities for those of all ages will include hot air balloon and wagon rides, a quilt raffle, Rough Rider demonstrations, and historical exhibits.
A premium book is available for the fair, which gives information from everyone who wishes to enter the various competitions. It is likely this will be of interest to people from all over, including nearby Glen Cove. Local brochure printers may have been approached to supply this book.
The Long Island Fair is taking place from September 27 to 28 and October 2 to 5 in Old Bethpage Village. Admission is $12 from Thursday to Saturday and $15 on Sunday, or $8 for seniors and children between the ages of 5 and 12. Call 516-572-8400 for more information.
