The Glen Cove Senior Citizens’ Center is putting together its latest fundraiser.
Sunday Dinner at Grandma’s is a late afternoon event combining dinner and entertainment, all to support a good cause.
The dinner in question will be a complete Italian-style dinner with pasta options, garlic bread, and dessert. Plenty of food will be available, so visitors will be able to either buy their tickets in advance or at the door. Afterwards, a DJ will play a variety of dance hits from the big band era all the way up to modern pop and rock hits. The DJ will take requests, so anyone interested in dancing the twist, jumping and jiving, or even break dancing will be able to strut their stuff.
The proceeds of the event go towards supporting the Citizens’ Center, which is a three-story building that offers daily events for the older residents of Glen Cove, as well as educational opportunities and help with daily life. Some of its funding also goes to virtual center efforts online and its monthly newsletter printing. Money from the dinner will support all of the center’s efforts.
Sunday Dinner with Grandma will take place on September 25 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Glen Cove Senior Citizen Center, located at 130 Glen St. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children aged 10 and under. Anyone interested in more information should contact the center directly.
