Glen Cove shoppers get clipping tips

Thrifty residents in Glen Cove looking for some help saving money are signing up for the workshop ‘Cut Your Grocery Costs and Save Money’. Hosted by a bestselling author, the event offers a unique approach to pinching those pennies.

The discussion will be led by Susan Samtur, known as the ‘original coupon-cutting queen’ and New York Times Bestselling author of the book ‘Supershop like the Coupon Queen’. She has an MS in Education, and is co-publisher of the magazine Refundle Bundle, in circulation since 1973. She has given talks on her methods on several TV channels, including shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Today Show.

Samtur will discuss her overall strategy to coupon clipping and cost cutting while outlining best practices when operating on a tight budget. She will teach participants how to be more aware of special savings opportunities, store rewards programs, refunds, and seasonal sales, while also covering how to unearth ad specialties including printable coupons and online deals. She will also be available for a question and answer session after the talk.

Cut Your Grocery Costs and Save Money will be held on February 28, starting at 7:00 pm at the Glen Cove Public Library, located at 4 Glen Cove Ave. Attendance is free to the public, and anyone interested in more info should contact the library directly.
