Glen Cove library plans book club building workshop

Book clubs combine literature with socializing, and an event that will be on offer in Glen Cove can help area residents to get one of these groups up and running.

Glen Cove Public Library works to support literacy in the greater community, and one of its upcoming workshops will discuss how to start a book club. The tips shared may be used whether a club focuses on fiction or nonfiction titles, or a special interest. Everyone has been asked to indicate their interest ahead of time.

The discussion will be led by one of the library’s staff members. Topics will include meeting times and locations, book selection, how many members to have, and also how to budget and meet any expenses that come up. The attendees will be able to meet and mingle, and it will be a casual occasion offered on the venue’s first floor.

One of the tasks of a library is supporting community activities. Promoting an event may be made simple with assistance from area Stationery printers, which will also be able to provide materials that may be useful in organizing a club or other group.

Glen Cove Library has scheduled this activity for the evening of October 5. Everyone who Signs up has been asked to arrive by no later than 7:00 pm, and its website offers a link to register.
