Glen Cove hits the green at golfing tournament

The Glen Cove Rotary Club is hard at work getting everything set for its 21st Annual Golf Tournament.

The event lasts the best part of a day and includes food, drinks, prizes, and - of course - plenty of golf.

After registration has completed, participants will have an hour and a half to eat a barbecue lunch before tee time. Once the tournament is underway, competitors will play through a full round of 18 holes. Prizes will be awarded for the top finishers in various categories. For those whose handicap is a little on high side, there is also the option of participating in an hour and a half instructional clinic hosted by a PGA Professional. The hands-on clinic will cover the full swing, chopping, and putting.

After the tournament is finished, all participants are invited to dinner and an open bar at the Metropolitan. It is at the dinner that awards will be given out, raffle tickets will be drawn, and Rotary members Peter Patrissi and Nick DiLeo will be honored for their dedication and loyalty.

Additionally, the Rotary Club is still looking for businesses and local philanthropists willing to help sponsor the event and donate prizes. Various levels of sponsorship are available and offer the possibility of ad specialties and other publicity.

The 21st Annual Rotary Club Golf Tournament will be held on July 25 starting at 11:00 am at the City of Glen Cove Golf Course. Tickets for the tournament are $195 per golfer or $750 for four, and includes lunch and dinner. The instructional clinic costs $150 and includes dinner. Other ticket and sponsorship options are listed on the Flyers.
