September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and to honor kids fighting this battle, a Glen Cove event will see runners and walkers hit the road.
The 10th annual Nicholas Pedone 5k is right around the corner, and it will be held rain or shine. There are options for kids and adults, and anyone who would like to go the extra mile by making a donation or serving as a sponsor is encouraged to do so.
The supporters of the cause can choose from a 5k walk or run, and there will be a special fun run just for those aged 10 and under. The staging area will be set up at Glen Cove High School, and all those who sign up ahead of time will receive a raffle ticket. Awards will be presented to the top finishers, and race bibs will be made available for pick up an hour before the event’s scheduled start. Check in will be at 7:00 am, and the fun run will begin at 8:15 am. The 5k will depart at 9:00 am.
A walk or run can raise both funds and awareness, and a Print shop can prepare an assortment of items that may help. It can craft T-Shirts, Banners, medals, and more.
The 2023 Nicholas Pedone 5K Run/Walk is on the way for September 3rd. Everyone is encouraged to lace up their sneakers and join the fun.
