The forests, meadows, beaches and lakes in and around Glen Cove are teeming with life, and the community’s budding naturalists have been invited to be part of an event that will explore these local ecosystems.
Garvies Point Museum and Preserve provides a variety of ways of interacting with nature, and one of these will be its series of Nature Workshops on offer this summer. The registration price for the activities is $150.00 for each child, and it will cover the cost of four morning or afternoon sessions.
These workshops will be divided into two groupings, and each will be focused on a different area. The first will explore ponds, birds, seeds, and flowers, as well as recycling and composting, while the second is set to investigate beaches, trees and plants, spiders and insects, and gardening. The kids will be grouped with other their own age range, and both pre-registration and advanced payment are mandatory.
Activities like those can be both fun and educational. A printer will be able to craft T-Shirts or other gear that sport a fun graphic design to give to each child who takes part.
