This weekend, Glen Cove residents have been asked to be generous when they make a donation to a local food drive lending a helping hand to their neighbors in need.
A collection event has been planned for the area, and as it will be a no-contact drive, everyone will be able to participate safely. The items donated will be passed along to the Mary Brennan INN Soup Kitchen, and masked volunteers will be on site to keep it all running smoothly.
The organizers of the day have prepared a list of the food items needed the most, all of which are non-perishable. Toiletries such as trial- and travel-size shampoos and soaps are also in demand, and baby food and toilet paper are needed as well. The organizers explained that while they appreciate any and all support, they are not able to accept clothing donations at this time.
The Covid pandemic has made many not-for-profit groups charge their procedures for hosting collection drives and other activities. Print shops will be able to help them navigate this new normal by supplying a wide assortment of effective marketing materials.
The INN Curbside Food Drive will be taking place this Saturday, January 22 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The drop-off point will be set up at 100 Madison Avenue in Hempstead.
