Glen Cove area class covers summer safety
Glen Cove summers and fun go hand in hand, and a local event will offer tips for enjoying the season safely.
Ed Orski, who is a subject matter expert when it comes to being safe, will share the knowledge he has gained through his many years of experience as an NYC paramedic, EMT and in his other roles. Refreshments will be served, and the venue for the occasion will be located at 135 Forest Avenue in Locust Valley.
The agenda for the workshop covers topics that range from recognizing and addressing heat exhaustion to how to treat minor wounds and burns. The participants will learn what to do in case of a bee or wasp sting and how to recognize signs of an anaphylactic reaction. Water safety, the importance of staying and other subjects on the syllabus as well. It’s free to participate, but those interested have been asked to RSVP by calling 516-759-5437 X 214.
Offering the public an opportunity to attend events such as workshops and classes can help community members to keep safe. Promotional pens as well as copies of handouts and other materials can be prepared for an activity by print shops.
