Glen Cove teens who would like to offer parents high-quality babysitting services may wish to make room in their schedule for a workshop that will be held in New Hyde Park.
The session, which will see pediatric nurses serve as facilitators, will cover various topics that may be relevant to youth who would like to add to their child care skill set. It’s intended for those who are between the ages of 11 and 16, and the registration fee is $30.
The participants in the event will learn about the basics of infant care and also tips that can help to keep their charges safe. Details will also be shared about what to do should an emergency arise. Along with this, there will be a discussion about child development and how to keep a youngster entertained, and tips will be provided about how to select toys and activities that are age appropriate.
The workshop is scheduled to run for four hours, and the registrants are asked to bring along a snack or lunch to eat during the break that has been planned.
