The Long Island Blues Festival is taking place this August, providing a fundraising event for the Long Island Blues Relief Fund, which is still aiding those who are trying to pick up after Hurricane Sandy.
The festival is set to feature both local and national bands. Some of those confirmed include Joe Louis Walker, Guitar Pete, Slam Allen Band, and Carolyn Harding. Vendors will be on hand to sell food and official merchandise, including T-Shirts, hats and Posters.
Organizers of the festival held a poster design contest for local high school students, and picked three winners. VIP tickets are available for purchase for each day of the festival, costing $200 each and including seating in an enclosed tent, gourmet food, drinks, a T-shirt, a hat, and a poster.
The Relief Fund holds several fundraisers during the year and a portion goes directly to families who were affected by the hurricane.
This event will likely attract people from all over Long Island, including nearby Glen Cove. Local printing companies may have been asked to provide advertising materials to help inform the public.
The Long Island Blues Festival will be held at the Cow Meadow Park and Preserve in Freeport from August 9 to 10 from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm each day. Tickets are $36 for one day or $65 for both days. For more information, call 631-393-6878.Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts
