Carvel celebrates grand opening in Glen Cove

Glen Cove, New York, has a new ice cream shop on Forest Avenue.

Carvel held its official opening ribbon cutting ceremony at the end of September. Attended by many customers, along with Fudgie the Whale (the company mascot), store owners were welcomed by Reggie Spinello, the Glen Cove mayor.

At the event, visitors were given promotional specials throughout the week, mini ice cream cakes, and ice cream cones. The chain itself is best known for its ice cream cakes as well as cones and dishes of soft serve.

The new location is owned and operated by Ping Hu and Tony Yuen. Located in the Glen Cove Shopping Center, the company held a soft opening a couple of weeks before the ribbon cutting. Carvel began serving ice cream in 1934, and now makes all of its treats by hand in each location. Along with soft serve and cakes, Carvel also serves sundaes, shakes, and specialty treats.

For grand openings, many companies choose to go all out on marketing, offering Promotional Products, items that incorporate Logo Design, Banners, and more. The goal of grand openings is often to create a strong impression in the customer’s mind so that they want to return over and over.
