Boot camp offers social media training for business

The FMC Summer Social Media Boot Camp is a half-day event taking place this July on Long Island. It is presented by the Fair Media Council.

The camp is expected to attract over 250 people representing more than 100 businesses, non-profit organizations, and business students. It will consist of a keynote address, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities.

The keynote speaker will be Lance Ulanoff from Mashable. Workshops, who will cover all of the basics of social media and its importance to doing business in the modern world. Topics will include a guide for beginners, how to get a return on investment, best practices, the biggest mistakes businesses make, and how companies can learn from the way news sources use social media.
