The Downtown Halloween Parade is to take place in Glen Cove once again this fall. Aimed at children aged 12 and under, it is presented by the Business Improvement District (BID).
The parade will be just one part of an afternoon filled with events for people of all ages, however. Just prior to it getting started, the Regency at Glen Cove will host a spooky story hour. Later on, the Maniac Pumpkin Carvers will be on hand to astound the public with demonstrations of their pumpkin art.
After the parade, participants are encouraged to trick-or-treat at downtown stores sporting the BID sign. There is also set to be a fruit pie bake off where contestants baking in two categories, classic or crumb, have their wares judged on taste, filling, and appearance. In addition, there will be contests for eating pies and the best costume.
Many of those taking part in the parade will likely be carrying Banners to recognize their group, such as in the case of Boy or Girl Scouts. Glen Cove banner printing companies may be asked to help design and Print these.
