Fairport duo among scholarship semi-finalists

Russell Guilbault and Samantha Myers, both 12th graders at Fairport High School, have been named semi-finalist for the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

PSAT/NMSQT scores dictate the placement of the participating students. These two met the high score criteria and are amongst only 16,000 students nationwide that made it to semi-finalist stage.

More than 1.3 million students coming from 20,000 high schools in the country enter the 2015 Merit Program their junior years.

The semi-finalists will move on to compete for approximately 7,600 available Merit Scholarship Awards with a value of over $33m. The scholarship s will be offered in the spring of 2015.

Oftentimes, schools will have catalog printing done to offer the programs to students and parents. The catalog can include all of the participants, program information, scholarship details, competition schedules, and sponsors. Frequently advertising is sold to offset printing costs as well.
