A bus driving on its usual route near Murray Hill recently had nonpaying passenger who caused quite a commotion.
The rider in question was not a person, but rather a large boa constrictor. The driver spotted the snake sliding by the vehicle’s back window, and immediately rerouted the bus back to the depot. Once it arrived, workers searched for the scaly creature, which had hidden itself behind some of the inner panels. They felt that it was trying to get to the warm area around the engine, as many reptiles ae attracted to such spots.

According to the MTA, there were no human passengers aboard the vehicle when the snake was spotted. It is felt that he may have been brought onto the bus by someone who was no longer able to care for him, and decided to leave him behind.
