The 24th annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest will take place in Brooklyn in just a few weeks. It is presented for Brooklyn Community Services and Astella Development Corporation. Proceeds for the event will go to continuing the rebuilding of Coney Island in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Between 3,000 and 4,000 participants and viewers are expected to show up for the contest. Professionals will be on hand to show off their sculpting skills, while amateurs will compete for cash prizes. Sculptors compete in several categories, including individual adult, group child (up to the age of 13), youth, and mixed. The jury will visit all of the sculptures and awards will be given out later in the day. In addition, there will be lots of children's activities and entertainment all afternoon.
Sponsorships are available from as low as $250 all the way up to $10,000. Depending on their level of support, sponsors will be recognized on signage, Banners, and all marketing materials. They will also be given an exhibit table. Promotional materials will most likely be the work of Brooklyn Print companies
