Patisserie invites locals behind the scenes

The Banana Farm, a Murray Hill area patisserie that follows French recipes and techniques, will be opening its doors to the public so they can learn more about how it crafts its cookies and other baked treats.

The establishment, which was started by local businesspeople who traded in their business suits for aprons, will welcome guests to its November open house style function. The tour will include some hands-on activities, as well as a chance to sneak a sample of some of the cookies or pastries that are baked on site.

Each of the guests who comes to the function will be treated to a tasting of some of its cookies, and they will also sit in on a baking session and learn tips they can take home with them so they can make tasty treats right in their own home. The baking crew will be present and can answer questions and share their experiences.

This opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how The Banana Farm prepares and bakes its goodies is open to all community members. Area Print shops can work on a one-on-one basis with the planners of a function like this to supply them with the customized products they require.

The Banana Farm is located at 106 98 4th Street in Brooklyn. It will be hosting its open house on November 1.
