A festival with an autumnal feel is on the way for Murray Hill, and it will offer lots of ways to keep warm during the coming winter months.
The Kings County Fiber Festival celebration will give residents of Brooklyn a chance to shop for a wide selection of fibers, as well as clothing and textiles crafted by area makers. The Old Stone House of Brooklyn will be the location for the day.
The function will be filled with area makers selling finished products such as sweaters, blankets, and quilts. The makers in the crowd can shop for yarns and other fibers as well as notions, perhaps using the opportunity to score gifts for the upcoming holiday season The vendors will have tables set up along the perimeter of the Park, as well as 5th Avenue, 3rd Street, and 4th Street.
To help this function give back to the community, the organizers explained that there will be a collection of warm winter hats. Everyone asked to bring a donation of a hat packed in a zip lock bag. These will be collected and distributed to those in need. A poster printing company will be able to help make sure as many as possible know about an upcoming charitable event.
This pop-up market hosted by at least 40 vendors will take place on Saturday, October 8. It will be open for browsing and buying from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
