A Murray Hill area event is hoping many hands will make light work later this month.
The Brooklyn Greenway Initiative (BGI) has scheduled a day that will allow people to pitch in to help Mother Nature. All help will be appreciated, and there are lots of jobs that need to be done.
Those who sign up to volunteer for the day will be clearing trash and debris and also removing invasive species in a designated section of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. They will also be showing the trees planted at the site some extra attention by aerating the planting pits and removing weeds.
Before they head to their designated work areas, volunteers will be able to listen to an address from an NYC Councilman, thanking them for their help. Advance registration is requested, and the tools and other gear needed for the task at hand will be provided.
Community clean-ups and other environmental stewardship projects often count on the generous spirit of local volunteers. Many organizations choose to provide these helpers with small Corporate Gifts to thank them for their willingness to get involved.
