Considered to be a combination of art and horticulture, bonsai culture has been practiced for many years, and a Murray Hill class will provide an easy introduction to the craft.
Brooklyn Brewery will be partnering with Bonsai Bar to bring the art of growing these miniature trees at home to the community. Geared towards the beginner, it may be a good opportunity to learn the basics.
The workshop will see attendees receive their own bonsai to work with and take home, and they will receive the information they need to keep it healthy and happy. They will learn how techniques such as pruning and wiring can be used to achieve a particular shape, and everyone will be able to design their own. Children may attend the class, but they will need to have an adult participate with them. Beer and other beverages will be on offer for purchase.
By teaching the basics of a hobby, a workshop can offer a lot of value to those who take part. A flyer printing company can be counted on to provide marketing materials for a class, as well as instruction and tip sheets.
Bonsai Bar will be bringing this ancient Japanese horticultural art from into the modern age on September 19. It will begin at 6:30 pm at 79 North 11th Street. Passes are $75 each.
