Connor Cushman, who is the Sunset Park Farm Manager, will be equipping area green-thumbs with skills and knowledge they can use to control insects and diseases caused by bacteria and fungi. The information shared may be useful for vegetable, fruit, and flower growing, and it will be focused on organic growing.
Those who register for the class will be invited to take a stroll through the site’s rooftop farm, and here, they will learn about disease and pest identification, including the times of the year at which they may be found. After this, the group will move indoors to keep learning, and the basics of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) will be introduced.
