Murray Hill area walk raises mental health awareness

A Murray Hill walk that will both raise awareness and smash the stigma that surrounds mental illness will be held in September, and everyone is encouraged to get involved.

Resilient Young Minds Inc. has set the date for its RYM Suicide Walk, which will be held in Canarsie Park. It will combine awareness raising with a resource fair and other activities, and those interested can walk on their own or as part of a team.

Once they have arrived and checked in, the walkers will be able to take in a yoga and meditation demo and there will also be art therapy demonstrations taking place. The walk will open with remarks from the organizer's founder, and an open mic session will give a voice to community members. Everyone can spend some time browsing in the vendor wellness fair, and this will be open throughout the event.

A community gathering offers not for profit groups the chance to connect with a large number of members of the public. A brochure printing company can provide materials to distribute as well as promotional Pens and other premiums.

The Resilient Young Minds Suicide Walk and Wellness Experience will be hitting the road on September 14th. At the time this was written, sign ups were still being accepted, and anyone who would like further details is advised to visit its event listing.
