The Park Slope Civic Council has put out a call to the Murray Hill area seeking helping hands for a local community service project.
Volunteers who take part in the Spring Cleaning: Civic Sweep project will be giving the neighborhood surrounding Old Stone House of Brooklyn a good spring clean. All help will be appreciated, and the supplies needed for the task at hand will be provided.
The participants will be mulching and weeding the street and other trees to help them get a good start to the growing season. They will also pick up litter and other debris, and a lamppost scrub session will remove graffiti. This portion of the day will be supervised by an adult. Everyone is advised to wear old clothes, and live music and a kids art project will add some extra fun.
When preparing to take part in the cleanup, attendees have been asked to bring along a generous donation of non-perishable food or diapers for area food banks, and an e-recycling station will round out the occasion. Many activities count on the generosity of volunteers for success, and a printer can prepare Promotional Products to hand out to thank them for their hard work.
This chance to show some love to Brooklyn’s green spaces is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, starting at 10:00 am. The staging area will be located at 336 3rd Street.
