Murray Hill area museum offers online family fun

With so many kids stuck at home, a local museum is ready to come to the rescue of Murray Hill area parents.

The Brooklyn Children’s Museum may have had to close its doors to the public due to COVID-19, but there is still plenty going on. It has prepared a variety of activities that can be enjoyed online, and there are offerings for kids of all ages and interests.

Parents are invited to choose from a list of online activities and the organizers have chosen ones they feel will be both educational and fun. Some are meant to be enjoyed indoors while others will encourage families to get out and explore their neighborhood safely, and the planners explained that once a project has been completed, the makers can post them to their social media accounts with the tag #BCMandYou.

Offering this sort of programming is one way a museum can adapt to changing times and still meet the needs of its patrons. Some have even prepared activity kits of Promotional Products and other materials families can pick up, take home, and enjoy with their child.

The Brooklyn Children’s Museum’s online list of handmade art project inspiration can be found on its website, and other information will be posted as well. Questions or concerns can be forwarded to the organizers at hello@brooklynkids.org.
