Birding is a hobby that has been enjoyed for many years, and a Murray Hill area concert will take a page from Baroque birders by hosting a concert that features music from this period.
The members of the Repast Baroque Ensemble will be performing an assortment of bird related pieces. The music aims to capture the excitement of discovery and getting reacquainted with nature, and its program runs for three hours.
The function will feature works by baroque composers that incorporate themes such as the songs of nightingales, chickens, quails, cuckoos and even dodos. Pieces by Rameau, Biber, Walsh, Handel and others will be included, and these will be paired with spoken word poetry that explores the impact seeing a great blue heron in Central Park had on the poem’s author Erin Hall.
Attending a play, concert or other live performance may offer a very different experience from viewing one on television or online. Printed souvenir programs are often distributed to the audience for an in person event, and they can be prepared by a local brochure printing company.
The date for this Murray Hill area performance will be January 20th, and the location is scheduled to take place at 121 Pierrepont Street. It will be repeated on January 21st at Manhattan Country School.
