An urban garden shows how life can thrive even in the heart of the city, and one of these sites has put out a call to the Murray Hill area seeking helpers for an upcoming project.
Concrete Safaris will be running a garden volunteer session, and those who register will be giving Mad Fun Farm some TLC. They will undertake a variety of maintenance tasks, and once they are complete, the site will be prepared for the winter months.
The helpers will repair raised beds, harvest the last of the fall vegetables and herbs, spread mulch, weed and engage in other activities, and there will be other jobs to do as well. It will give the public a chance to get their hands dirty while making a difference in the community, and everyone is advised to dress in layers, bring a water bottle and be prepared to work hard and have fun doing it.
This sort of activity offers many benefits to those who take part, one of them being it gives them an opportunity to meet others who enjoy working in the garden.
