Garden center exhibit pays tribute to Frida Kahlo

The New York Botanical Garden is currently showing the exhibit ‘Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden Life’, and it will continue until November.

The exhibit features 14 of the artist's original paintings and works on paper, concentrating on her botanical imagery. In addition, there are recreations of her Casa Azul studio and her garden.

To celebrate this exhibit, there are several special events taking place while it is there. Frida al Fresco Evenings will be held four times each month. This gives visitors a chance to enjoy some Mexican beer or a margarita, some great food, and musical entertainment in the outdoor cantina. This is only for those over age 21; tickets are $35 or $25 for members and include a drink.

Another event taking place three times a week is the hands-on Cooking with Frida workshop; this is free with admission.

This exhibition should attract visitors from all over, including those from Murray Hill. To ensure more people know about the exhibition and related events, local Print companies may be asked to provide Flyers to be inserted into local newspapers.

‘Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden, Life’ is showing at the New York Botanical Garden until November 1. Admission to the garden is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and students, and $8 for children between the ages of 2 and 12; prices go up $2 for weekends and holidays.
