The 9th annual Master Drawings in New York exhibition is returning for a week later this month.
A variety of drawings in pencil, pen and ink, and chalk created from the 16th to the 21st Century will be on display at more than 20 galleries in the East Side of New York City. Some of those taking part include the Morgan Library, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, PRPH Rare Books, the Jill Newhouse Gallery, and the Dalva Brothers.
This event attracts some of world's art collectors, since many of the works will be available for sale. A few of the items to be exhibited have never been seen or published before, including Sir Joshua Reynolds' ‘Dionysus Aeropagites’, which was thought to be lost. Other artists featured include Francois Boucher, Jacobus van Looy, and Jan Cornelisz. There will be a sneak preview of the exhibition at all of the participating galleries on January 23 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
This event is a popular one in the city every year and no doubt it will attract visitors from all over the city, including art fans from Murray Hill. Those who are employed by printing companies or graphic design businesses will also likely want to catch this.
